To whom it may concern

Following a 23 year period of not having visited a dentist the obvious result was the need for root canal work.

My initial choice of dentist did not prove successful and I was referred to Dr Maratos

The root canal work was the tip of the iceberg and considerable work was necessary to restore dental and, as it turned out general health.

My priority was to save as much of the original tooth structure as possible and to keep the teeth alive if at all possible.

Dr Maratos worked on this brief to crown only those teeth where the alternative was not practical.

Even then consideration was given to the construction materials used in the crown to limit the amount of tooth removed.

To further enhance the preservation of the original tooth structure ceramic inserts were used where possible rather than crowns.

The results have been excellent.

Aside from the cosmetic improvements the unseen benefit of better oral hygiene and even easier breathing and an apparent drop off in colds have been both interesting and enjoyable.

However, as I write this it dawns on me the best bit is that eating is now just that, not a process of damage limitation or discomfort avoidance.

And YES! I do now go for quarterly check ups.
